When I finally got around to reading The Book of Three (the first book, followed by The Black Cauldron, The Castle of Llyr, Taran Wanderer, and The High King, I was…disappointed. Saving Taran Wanderer of The Prydain Chronicles, Theo in Lloyd Alexander's Westmark is his most developed hero. Omnibus version containing the books "Taran Wanderer" and "The High King" (4 & 5 in the Chronicles of Prydain). These amazing books chronicled the adventers of taran My favorite memory is of the book Taran Wanderer. It was then changed to a series of 4 books, with "The High King of Prydain" being the 4th volume. I read (some of) these books many years ago in school. Pater, if you include "The Foundling," even though it's more or less a stand-alone novel, the Prydain Chronicles is six books long. Influential Book: The Chronicles of Prydain and Taran Wanderer. The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander are five different books that follow the life of Taran, a young Assistant Pig-Keeper. "Taran Wanderer" will always hold a special place in my heart. This is the next to last book in the series. My favorite childhood memory books were The chronicles of Prydain. To my mind, the Chronicles of Prydain remain one of the best MG fantasy series ever written.
